Westys was originally founded by Dan Westfall an avid Arizona angler and bait maker. In 1975 westys first introduced its superfloat double-hook worms. Which is a worm with a jighead, a stinger hook tied to that jighead and threaded through the body of the worm down to the tail. This lure quickly became a popular choice for anglers all across the west coast.

“A Westy Worm is undoubtedly the number-one summer bait in my home state of Arizona. I'd bet that more summer tournaments are won on Westys than on any other lure, and I just don't understand it. When you look at a Westy, it just looks like a weird little worm. But the bass absolutely love 'em. In fact, the first bass over 10 pounds I ever caught was on a Westy Worm, and l've won a lot of money on them” -Mark Kile 3x Bassmaster Classic Qualifier

“The original Westy Worm made out west over 30 years ago. A pre-rigged double hook worm that literally caught millions of bass back in the day. I used these worms to get 2nd & 3rd in US Opens on lake mead back in ‘85 and ‘86 when the opens were in July!” -John Murray 7x Bassmaster Classic Qualifier and 2x US Open champion

“I LOVE Westy Worms and have been using them for decades!! I recently was at Saguraro lake in a small tournament and found fish a little too late to win but Westys was the only thing I could catch them on that day. I still ended up 3rd and had big fish and big 3 for the event! Westys have always been in my arsenal and I have won thousands of dollars with them. If you have never fished them you NEED to. They offer the fish something different then they see every day and will always catch fish. They are finnesse but yet you catch numbers of big bass on them as well, unlike most finnesse types baits” - Keith Espe FLW Tour Pro
